Finding Your Way Around the Sites Launcher

Overview

The Sites launcher is the home screen of StretchWP inside your workspace. It opens when you choose Sites in the left navigation and greets you with "What will you launch today?". From here you find any site your team owns, jump to common tasks, and open a site's control panel.

The launcher shows only the sites attached to your workspace — matched by your organization and owner email — so your team sees exactly the sites it owns and nothing else.

The parts of the launcher

1. The quick-action rail. A row of round icon tiles across the top for common destinations: New site, Sites, Onboarding, Backups, Security, Staging, Domains, SSL, Migrate, Analytics, and Plugins. These are shortcuts — most of them take you into the Sites list or a site's control panel where the actual work happens.
2. The search bar. Type any part of a site's name or hostname to filter the grid instantly.
3. View and filter controls. Switch between grid (cards) and list (rows) views, and filter by attributes such as status or site type when you have many sites.
4. The site grid. Each card shows the site name, its primary hostname, a status badge, and when it was last updated. A green badge means a healthy state like live or provisioned; a softer tone means an in-progress state.
5. The empty state. If your workspace has no sites yet, the launcher shows a friendly prompt with a button to request your first starter site.

Steps: find and open a site

1. Open Sites from the left navigation.
2. Search or scan. Type in the search bar to narrow the grid, or browse the cards directly.
3. Switch views if it helps. Use the list view when you manage many sites and want a compact, scannable layout; use grid for a visual overview.
4. Read the badge. The status badge tells you a site's condition before you open it — live and provisioned are healthy; provisioning means a build is in progress.
5. Click a card to open that site's Site Control Panel on its Overview tab.

Example

A studio manages twelve client sites. To find one client's site quickly, they open Sites, type harbor in the search bar, and the grid narrows to harbor-cafe.sites.stretchmedia.ca. They switch to list view to compare last-updated dates across all twelve at once, spot one that hasn't been touched in months, and open it to check its Health tab.

Tips

• Search matches hostnames too. If you don't remember the display name, type part of the domain instead.
• The rail is navigation, not a separate app. Tapping Backups, Security, or Plugins on the rail brings you to the site view where those tabs live — it's a fast path, not a different screen.
• Use New site to start onboarding. The New site tile begins the starter-site request flow (see Requesting your starter WordPress site).
• Sites are organization-scoped. If a teammate can see a site you can't, it's attached under a different organization or owner email — contact the Stretch team to align ownership.

Troubleshooting

• The launcher is empty. Either no site has been created for your workspace yet, or your site is attached under a different email or organization. Request a starter site to get started, or ask the Stretch team to attach an existing site to your workspace.
• A site I expect is missing. Check whether it's archived — archived sites may be filtered out of the default view. Confirm the owner email on the site matches your account.
• Cards look out of date. The launcher reflects the last telemetry and control-plane state. Refresh the page; if a card still looks stale after a live change, open the site and check its Events tab for the latest activity.
