The StretchWP Plugin Store, Backups, and PHP Version

Install signed StretchWP plugins from the built-in store, take downloadable and scheduled backups, and switch a site PHP version for hosting parity with Cloudways and Kinsta.

The plugin store

StretchWP now includes a plugin store with the StretchWP plugin suite packaged and cryptographically signed, so you can add our plugins to a managed site from one place instead of uploading zips by hand.

To install a plugin:

  1. Open the site in StretchWP and go to the Plugin store.
  2. Browse the catalog and choose a plugin (for example the dashboard, SEO, analytics, or optimizer plugin).
  3. Click Install — StretchWP delivers the signed package to the site and activates it.

Downloadable and scheduled backups

You can take on-demand backups and set a schedule so backups run automatically, matching what managed hosts like Kinsta provide.

  • Download a backup archive of a site.
  • Configure a schedule and let the backup worker run it for you.

PHP version switch

For hosting parity with Cloudways and Kinsta, an administrator can switch a site's PHP version. The change swaps the site's runtime to the selected PHP release.

Availability

  • The plugin store is live for managed StretchWP sites.
  • Backups and the PHP version switch are administrator features and are rolled out per account.

Good to know

  • Plugin packages are signed and verified before install, so a site only ever runs packages published by StretchWP.
  • The PHP version switch and backup scheduling are administrator-only actions.
