Calendar and Timeline (Gantt) Plan Views

See your tasks on a real month calendar with multi-day bars, or on a Timeline (Gantt) with a time axis, milestones, dependency lines, and a today marker.

Two new ways to see your work

StretchTasks already has Board and List views. This release adds two proper planning views:

Calendar view A real month grid — not a flat list.

  • Tasks with a due date appear on their day; multi-day tasks render as bars that span the days they cover and stack neatly when they overlap.
  • Navigate with prev / Today / next; the current day is highlighted and out-of-month days are dimmed.
  • Days with many items show a +N more overflow.
  • Drag a task to another day to reschedule it (its due date updates). Click any task to open its detail.

Timeline view (Gantt) A time-scaled schedule.

  • A sticky task-label column on the left, a scrollable time axis across the top (switch zoom between day / week / month).
  • Each task is a proportional bar, coloured by priority; single-date items show as milestone diamonds.
  • Dependency lines connect linked tasks, and a red today line marks the current date.

How to use them

  1. Open a project or your task list in StretchTasks.
  2. Use the view tabs to switch to Calendar or Timeline.
  3. In Calendar, drag a task to a new day to reschedule. In Timeline, use the zoom control to change the time scale.
  4. Click any task bar, chip, or milestone to open its details.

Availability

Rolling out. Calendar and Timeline plan views are released behind a feature flag and enabled per account. Until then, StretchTasks continues to show the existing board, list, and simpler calendar/timeline layouts.

Current limits (being expanded)

  • In Calendar, dragging reschedules single-day tasks today; dragging or resizing a multi-day bar to shift a whole window is coming next.
  • In Timeline, bars are read-only for now — drag-to-reschedule and drawing dependencies between bars are on the roadmap.
