StretchSocial FAQ & Troubleshooting

Quick answers about networks, scoring, states, permissions, and fixes for the most common StretchSocial issues.

Frequently asked questions

Which networks can I post to?

The composer lets you target LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, TikTok, and YouTube. The wider supported-network registry also covers Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Snapchat, and Bluesky — eleven networks in total. Each has its own character limit and capabilities (for example, X allows 280 characters and LinkedIn allows 3,000). See Supported networks and capabilities.

Can one post go to several networks at once?

Yes. In Compose, click each network button to add it as a target. The post keeps a separate target for every selected network, and each target becomes its own job in the Queue, so networks succeed or fail independently.

Why is the readiness score not 100?

The score rewards a complete, well-formed post. Each of the four approval checks — caption present, campaign named, network selected, CTA or destination — adds 18 points (72 total, already green at 70+). A caption of at least 80 characters adds 14, keeping it within 280 characters adds 8, and including a ? or # adds 6, up to a cap of 100.

What do the status chips mean?

  • Green (Connected, Active, Approved, Published, Complete, OK) — ready or done.
  • Amber (Scheduled, Pending, Queued, Needs approval, Draft, In review) — in progress.
  • Red (Failed, Blocked, Rejected, Disconnected, Error) — needs attention.
  • Grey — no specific status yet.

What are the post states?

Posts track three fields: workflow status (draft → in review → approved/blocked, scheduled), approval status (pending → needs approval → in review → approved/rejected), and publish status (not scheduled → scheduled → published). See Understanding governed publishing.

Does scheduling a post publish it immediately?

No. Scheduling sets a publish time and moves the post into the queue. Publishing is governed: posts pass through draft, approval, scheduled, and queued states, and live delivery to the networks is controlled centrally by your StretchSuite administrator.

How do I approve or reject a post?

Open the Approvals tab. Each post has Review, Approve, and Reject actions. Rejecting asks for confirmation and blocks the post from publishing until it's revised. See The approval workflow in StretchSocial.

How do I edit or delete a post?

Open a draft from Recent drafts in Compose to edit its body, networks, campaign, CTA, destination, or schedule. To delete, use the Delete action on the post (you'll be asked to confirm). Deleting removes the post from StretchSocial.

Is there AI to help me write?

Yes — optional, administrator-enabled AI drafting turns a short brief into per-network posts with hashtags, and a content-assessment engine scores content quality, publish risk, and platform fit before a post reaches the gate. If you don't see them, they aren't enabled for your workspace. See AI drafting and content assessment.

What's the difference between Insights and Analytics?

Insights is a health-and-readiness dashboard (draft readiness, campaign mix, connected channels, queue load). Analytics is a per-post performance view (posts, targets, queue jobs, completed vs. failed). Use Insights weekly and Analytics after launches.

Is my data separated from other clients?

Yes. Everything in StretchSocial is scoped to your organization — you only ever see and write your own workspace's connections, posts, queue jobs, and analytics.

Troubleshooting

A view shows "Your session needs to be refreshed"

Your sign-in has expired. Click Retry on the message, or refresh the page to re-establish your session, then reopen the tab.

A view says "You do not have access to this StretchSocial view yet"

Your account doesn't have permission for that action. Social write actions (creating posts and connections, approving, and scheduling) require write access. Ask your workspace administrator to grant StretchSocial write access.

I see "StretchSocial is busy right now. Please retry in a moment."

The service is rate-limited or briefly overloaded. Wait a few seconds and click Retry. If it persists, try again in a minute.

A post won't save

A post requires a body — the caption can't be empty. Add body text and try again. If you're scheduling, also confirm at least one network is selected.

A queue job shows a Failed status

Open the Queue tab and read the Error column for that row. Common causes are a disconnected channel or a scheduling problem. Fix the underlying connection in the Connections tab (look for a red status chip), then reschedule the post from the Calendar.

My connection shows Disconnected

Open Connections and check the channel's status chip and last-sync time. A disconnected channel can't receive posts. Re-add or refresh the connection, and confirm with your administrator that live authentication for that network is enabled.

Tip: When any tab fails to load, use the Refresh button in the top-right of StretchSocial (or the Retry button on an error message) before assuming there's a bigger problem — most load errors are transient.
