Overview
StretchShop includes marketing tools to bring buyers back and grow revenue: one-off campaigns, always-on automations, and abandoned-checkout recovery. This guide shows how to use each and how they work together with customers and segments.
Campaigns
A campaign is a message you send to an audience at a point in time — a product launch, a sale, or a newsletter.
- Open Marketing > Campaigns and click New campaign.
- Give it a name, choose the audience (typically a customer segment), and compose the message and offer.
- Save the campaign as a draft while you refine it; edit any field until you're ready.
- Click Send to dispatch the campaign to its audience. Only consented customers should be targeted.
Automations
Automations run on triggers so marketing happens without manual effort — for example a welcome message after a first order, or a win-back after a period of inactivity.
- Open Marketing > Automations and click New automation.
- Define the trigger and the action (the message or offer to send).
- Save it. A new automation starts inactive.
- Click Activate to turn it on; the automation now runs whenever its trigger fires.
- Click Pause to temporarily stop it without deleting your setup, and activate it again later.
Abandoned-checkout recovery
Buyers often add items and leave before paying. StretchShop captures these as abandoned checkouts so you can win them back.
- Open Abandoned checkouts to see carts that were started but not completed, most recent first.
- Review the cart contents and the customer (if known).
- Click Send recovery to reach out and invite the buyer to finish their purchase, or use Recover to advance the checkout.
- Track which recoveries convert into completed orders.
A realistic example
You launch "Summer 2026" with a campaign to a segment of past summer buyers who opted in — subject line, hero image, and code LAUNCH15. You also set an automation: when a customer places their first order, they receive a thank-you with a small next-purchase incentive; you activate it. Over the week, ten shoppers abandon full carts; you open Abandoned checkouts and send recovery to each, and three come back and complete their orders.
Tips
- Target segments rather than your whole list — relevance lifts conversion and protects deliverability.
- Respect consent: market only to customers who opted in.
- Use automations for the repeatable moments (welcome, post-purchase, win-back) and campaigns for timely events.
- Act on abandoned checkouts quickly — recovery works best while intent is fresh.
Troubleshooting
- A campaign didn't reach someone — confirm they're in the target segment and have marketing consent.
- An automation isn't firing — check that it's activated (not paused) and that its trigger conditions match real events.
- No abandoned checkouts appear — they populate as buyers start and leave carts; a brand-new store may simply have none yet.
- Recovery isn't converting — revisit timing, incentive, and message; recovery is most effective sent promptly.
