What is StretchShop?
StretchShop is the StretchSuite app for running an online store. From one workspace you manage your product catalog, a browsable storefront, shopping carts, checkout, orders, customers, and much more — including inventory, shipping, tax, discounts, marketing, and B2B pricing. Everything is scoped to your organization, so you only ever see and edit your own store's data.

StretchShop opens to a left-hand navigation rail. The core sections you will use every day are:
| Section | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | See key metrics and charts — products, carts, orders, revenue |
| Storefront | Browse products and collections the way a buyer would |
| Products | Add, edit, organize, and remove catalog items |
| Orders | Create and move orders through their lifecycle |
| Customers | Review buyer profiles, order counts, and lifetime value |
| Checkout | Build a cart and run a checkout |
Deeper sections — Discounts, Marketing, Shipping & Tax, Online Store, and Settings — are documented in their own guides.
Key concepts
- Products are the items you sell. Each has a title, an optional SKU and barcode, a price, an inventory quantity, and a status (
draft, active, orarchived). Onlyactiveproducts appear on the storefront. - Prices are stored in cents. A price of
9900means $99.00. Storing money as whole cents keeps every total exact. - Carts hold line items before checkout. Checking a cart out creates an order and reserves stock.
- Orders move through five statuses:
pending, paid, fulfilled, cancelled, andrefunded. - Customers carry order history, addresses, store credit, and marketing consent.
- The default currency is CAD unless you set another (for example
USD). A cart and its items must all use the same currency.
Your first steps
- Open StretchShop and confirm it is connected. In the header you will see a Live status chip once your store data loads. Use Refresh any time to reload the current view.
- Set your store basics. Open Settings and confirm your store currency and defaults. If you plan to take real payments, set up Stripe now (see Carts, Checkout & Online Payments).
- Add your first product. Go to Products, click New product, and give it a title, a price (entered in your store's money field), a SKU, and set the status to
active. Save. - Check the storefront. Open Storefront and confirm your new product appears as a card with its price. This is what buyers browse.
- Run a test checkout. Go to Checkout, add the product to a cart, enter a customer email and shipping address, choose a shipping rate, and click Checkout. This creates your first order.
- Review the results. Open Orders to see the order, then open Dashboard to watch your metrics and charts populate.
Tip: Everything on the Dashboard is driven by real data. A brand-new store shows friendly empty states — they fill in the moment you add a product or record a checkout.
A realistic first-day example
Imagine you sell candles. You add "Cedar & Sage Candle" at 2400 ($24.00), SKU CND-CS-01, inventory 50, status active. It appears on the storefront. You open Checkout, add one candle, enter sam@example.com, add a Toronto shipping address, pick the Standard rate, and check out. StretchShop creates a pending order for $24.00 plus shipping and tax, reserves one unit (inventory drops to 49), and the order shows up under Orders and on your Dashboard revenue chart.
Tips
- Start products as
draftwhile you are still writing copy and adding images, then flip toactivewhen they are ready to sell. - Use Refresh if a number looks stale — StretchShop reads live data, but your view only updates when it loads.
- Enter prices carefully: the field expects the money amount for your store; remember internally everything is whole cents, so avoid fractional cents.
- Keep one browser tab per task. Because data is org-scoped, anything you change is immediately visible to your teammates in the same organization.
