StretchSheets FAQ and Troubleshooting

Quick answers to the most common StretchSheets questions and clear fixes for the messages and issues you might run into.

Frequently asked questions

What is a workbook? A workbook is a single spreadsheet file in StretchSheets. It contains one or more sheets — grids that start at 120 rows by 40 columns — where you enter data, write formulas, format cells, and add charts.

Which formulas does StretchSheets support? SUM, AVG/AVERAGE, IF, and VLOOKUP, plus A1-style ranges (A1:C10), basic arithmetic (+ - * /), and comparison operators (> < >= <= = <>). Every formula must begin with =.

What chart types are available? Bar, line, and pie. Select a range of labels and values and click Insert chart (a bar chart is added by default).

Can I import and export data? Yes. Import from CSV, and export any workbook as CSV or XLSX from the editor toolbar. To load an XLSX, save it as CSV first and import that.

Does StretchSheets save automatically, and is there version history? Your content is persisted when you save, and every content save captures a version snapshot of the previous state. StretchSheets keeps up to 20 snapshots per workbook, newest first.

Can my team edit the same workbook at once? Yes. StretchSheets supports real-time collaboration with presence and live cursors, so multiple members of your organization can edit together and see each other's changes.

Who can access my workbooks? Only members of your organization. Owners and admins always have access; other members need the Sheets app enabled on their membership. See Managing Team Access to Sheets.

What are the statuses and folders for? Status (Active, Draft, Archived) marks a workbook's lifecycle stage. Folders group related workbooks (workbooks with no folder appear in General). Both help you filter and organize the library.

How many workbooks can I have? There's no small cap on creation, but the library view shows your 100 most-recently-updated workbooks. Archiving old ones keeps the active list focused.

Troubleshooting

"Sheet not found." The workbook was deleted, or you're trying to open a workbook that belongs to a different organization. Confirm you're in the right organization and that the workbook still exists (check the Archived filter, too).

"You do not have access to this workspace app." Your account isn't an owner/admin and doesn't have the Sheets app enabled. Ask an owner or admin to add Sheets to your membership.

"You are not a member of the requested workspace." Your account isn't an active member of that organization. Confirm the membership exists and is Active.

"Authenticated organization is required" / "A workspace user is required." Your session didn't carry an organization or user identity. Sign back into your StretchSuite workspace and reopen StretchSheets.

My formula shows as plain text. A formula must start with =. If a cell displays SUM(A1:A10) literally, add the leading equals sign.

My total or average skips some rows. SUM and AVG ignore non-numeric cells. A value stored as text won't be counted — retype it as a plain number.

VLOOKUP returns nothing. Make sure the search value exists in the first column of the lookup range, and that the return-column number is within the range's width.

My formatting or chart disappeared after reloading. Changes must be saved to persist. Click Save (or let autosave finish) before leaving the editor.

My CSV imported into a single column. The file likely used a non-standard delimiter. Re-export it as a standard comma-separated CSV and import again.

A download didn't start. Check your browser's pop-up/download settings and click the CSV or XLSX button again.

Collaboration won't start / "Unable to mint realtime room token." The real-time session couldn't be authorized. Confirm you have access to the Sheets app and to that specific workbook, then reopen it. If it persists, contact StretchSupport.

An older version I needed is gone. Version history keeps the most recent 20 saves. If you've saved more than 20 times since, older states roll off — export important versions to XLSX/CSV to keep them permanently.

Still stuck?

If a problem persists after these steps, note what you were doing and any exact on-screen message, then contact StretchSupport. Details like the workbook name, your organization, and the message text help resolve issues fastest.
