What StretchSheets is

StretchSheets is the spreadsheet application inside StretchSuite. You use it to build workbooks — grids of rows and columns where you enter data, write formulas, format cells, freeze headers, add charts, and work alongside your teammates in real time. It behaves like the spreadsheet tools you already know, but every workbook lives safely inside your own organization's workspace, is versioned automatically, and is governed by the same access controls as the rest of the suite.

Under the hood, the grid is powered by a purpose-built calculation engine (compiled to WebAssembly and run in your browser), so scrolling, editing, and recalculation stay fast even on large sheets. Live editing is coordinated by a real-time service that keeps everyone's changes in sync and shows you where your collaborators are working.

Who it's for

StretchSheets is built for the everyday spreadsheet work that runs a business:

• Finance and operations teams tracking budgets, actuals, variance, and inventory.

Because it is part of the suite, there is nothing to install and no separate login — if you can reach your StretchSuite workspace, you can open StretchSheets (subject to your app permissions).

What you can do

The capabilities below map directly to what the product actually ships:

• Create workbooks from a blank grid or from a ready-made business template (Budget tracker, Sales pipeline, Inventory count, Project plan).
• Enter and edit data in a live grid that starts at 120 rows by 40 columns per sheet, with a name box and formula bar just like a classic spreadsheet.
• Write formulas — SUM, AVG/AVERAGE, IF, and VLOOKUP, plus A1-style ranges (A1:C10), basic arithmetic, and comparison operators.
• Format cells — bold, italic, text alignment, fill color, and adjustable column widths and row heights.
• Freeze panes so header rows and key columns stay visible as you scroll.
• Insert charts — bar, line, and pie — to visualize a range of data.
• Import and export — bring data in from CSV and download any workbook as CSV or XLSX.
• Collaborate in real time — presence and live cursors show who else is in the workbook while edits sync automatically.
• Track version history — StretchSheets keeps a rolling set of automatic snapshots (up to 20 per workbook) so previous states are never lost.
• Manage your library — rename workbooks, set status (Active, Draft, Archived), group them into folders, search and sort, and delete when you're done.

How it fits the suite

Every workbook is organization-scoped. StretchSheets runs behind the StretchSuite workspace gateway, which confirms your membership and app access on every request, so you only ever see and edit workbooks that belong to your organization. Access is role-aware: owners and admins always have access, and other members need the Sheets app enabled on their membership.

StretchSheets shares the same identity, tenancy, and design language as the rest of StretchSuite, so it feels consistent next to StretchDocs, StretchCRM, StretchBooks, and the other apps. Data you build here — a pipeline export, a budget, an inventory list — moves cleanly to and from those apps via CSV and XLSX, making StretchSheets the flexible, numbers-first surface at the center of your suite.
