Dynamic Content: Bind Pages to CMS Collections

Build dynamic, data-driven pages

StretchPages now connects a repeating element on your page to a real CMS collection, so a single design renders many items — blog posts, listings, team members — from your content store.

The new visual query builder lets you shape exactly which items appear:

• Filter by any field with operators like equals, contains, starts with, greater than, and is / is not set.
• Sort by a field, ascending or descending (numeric- and date-aware).
• Limit how many items show.

Because the builder and the published page use the same query, the preview in the editor matches what visitors see. Previously the filter/sort/limit you set was ignored at publish — for example "the 3 newest posts tagged news" could not be expressed. Now it can.

How to use it

1. Open a page in the StretchPages editor and select a repeating element (a repeater).
2. In the binding panel, choose a collection as the source.
3. Add filter rows (field, operator, value), pick a sort field and direction, and set a limit.
4. Map the collection's fields onto the elements inside the repeater.
5. Use the preview ("N of M records match") to confirm, then publish.

Availability

Rolling out. Dynamic content binding is released behind a feature flag and enabled per account. With it off, the existing binding panel and sample content are unchanged.

Current limits (being expanded)

• Filtering applies to the bound collection's own fields; joining to a referenced collection's fields is on the roadmap.
• Per-item "collection pages" (one route per record) and on-page pagination controls are planned next.
