Create a Page from a Template

Overview

Templates are the fastest way to get a good-looking page. StretchPages ships with ten professionally designed starter templates covering common page types, plus a blank canvas for when you want to start from scratch. A template gives you a complete, editable layout — hero, sections, buttons, and imagery — that you customize with your own words, brand, and links.

The starter templates

Each template is a full page tuned for a specific purpose:

• SaaS landing (Northstar Ops) — product launches and software marketing.
• Agency (Fieldwork Studio) — studios, agencies, and service businesses.
• Portfolio (Avery Chen) — creative and personal portfolios.
• Restaurant / Local (Juniper Table) — restaurants and local businesses.
• E-commerce product (Luma Bottle) — a single product landing page.
• Event / Conference (Signal Summit) — events, summits, and webinars.
• Personal / Coach (Mara Wells Coaching) — coaches, consultants, and creators.
• Blog / Magazine home (Civic Notes) — content and publication homepages.
• Nonprofit (Harbor Youth Fund) — campaigns and donation drives.
• App showcase (PulseFit) — mobile and web app landing pages.

Create a page from a template

1. Open the Pages app and click New page.
2. In the template picker, browse the available templates by category.
3. Click a template to preview its layout.
4. Click Use this template (or Start). StretchPages creates a new page pre-filled with that template's design and opens it in the canvas editor.
5. Give the page a clear name so it's easy to find later.

Start from a blank canvas instead

1. From New page, choose Blank canvas.
2. You get an empty page with a simple hero (a headline, intro text, and a button) that you can build on.
3. Add sections and elements from the insert menu as you go.

Make the template your own

Once the template is open, replace the placeholder content with yours:

1. Rewrite the copy. Double-click any heading or text block and type. Update the hero headline, subheadline, and body text first.
2. Fix the links. Select each button and set its link — for example to your signup form, checkout, or contact page.
3. Swap the images. Select an image element and replace it with your own photo or brand asset.
4. Apply your brand. Open Globals and set your brand colors and fonts so the whole template shifts to match your identity.
5. Remove what you don't need. Select any section and delete it. Templates are meant to be trimmed.
6. Reorder sections. Drag sections up or down to change the flow of the page.

Example: turn a template into an event page

You're promoting a one-day workshop. You start from the Event / Conference template, rename the page "Fall Workshop," and rewrite the hero to your event title and date. You update the agenda section with your sessions, point the "Register" button at your registration form, replace the venue photo, and set your brand color in Globals so the buttons and accents match. You delete the sponsors section you don't need, then publish. The whole page took minutes because the structure was already there.

Tips

• Keep the structure, change the content. Templates are designed with good hierarchy and spacing — you'll usually get the best result by editing text and images rather than rebuilding layout.
• Set globals early. Applying brand colors and fonts before you fine-tune sections means the template updates everywhere at once.
• Duplicate a page to reuse a template you've already customized as your own house style.
• Save sections you like as blocks so you can reuse them across future pages (see the blocks and site-parts guide).

FAQ

Can I switch templates after I start? A page keeps the template you chose, but you can always create a new page from a different template and move content across, or rebuild sections. There's no lock-in to the original template.

Do templates count against anything? No — a template is just a starting layout. Once created, it's a normal page in your library.

Can I build my own template? You can save any section as a reusable block and build shared site-parts, which together act as your personal template kit. See Reusable blocks and site-parts.
