Transcripts, AI Summaries, and Meeting Artifacts

Beyond recording, StretchMeet turns your meetings into usable knowledge: searchable transcripts, AI-generated summaries with decisions and action items, and a tidy set of artifacts attached to each meeting. This article explains meeting intelligence and how to use it.

What are meeting artifacts?

An artifact is any output a meeting produces — a recording, a transcript, or a summary. StretchMeet keeps all of a meeting's artifacts together, so everything from a single call lives in one place and stays part of your customer or project record.

To view them, open a meeting and go to its Artifacts, or reach recordings from the dashboard's Recordings list.

Transcripts

A transcript is a text version of what was said, broken into segments. When transcription is enabled (a transcription mode on the room, or requested when you start recording), StretchMeet produces a transcript you can read and search.

A transcript has a status:

• Ready — the transcript is complete and available.
• Off / pending — no transcript was requested, or the transcript worker hasn't finished producing final segments yet.

To view a transcript:

1. Open the meeting.
2. Go to Transcript (or open the transcript from the recording).
3. Read or search the segments. If it's still processing, you'll see a note that it isn't ready yet — check back shortly.

AI summaries

After a meeting, StretchMeet can generate an AI summary — a concise recap so nobody has to write up notes. A summary includes:

• Summary — a short narrative of what the meeting covered.
• Decisions — the key decisions the group made.
• Action items — follow-up tasks surfaced from the conversation.

The summary has a status: available when ready, or pending while the intelligence is still being extracted.

To view a summary:

1. Open the meeting.
2. Go to Summary.
3. Review the recap, decisions, and action items.

Turning intelligence on

• Set the room's transcription mode to manual or automatic, or request a transcript when you start recording, to get a transcript.
• Summaries are produced from the meeting's captured content, so enabling recording and transcription gives the AI the material it needs for a good recap.

A realistic example

After a project kickoff, the delivery lead opens the meeting in StretchMeet. The transcript shows ready, so she searches it for the word "deadline" to confirm exactly what was agreed. She then opens the summary: the AI has captured three decisions (scope, timeline, and point of contact) and five action items, including "Send SOW by Friday" and "Schedule design review." She copies the action items into the project's task list — no manual note-taking required.

Tips

• Record + transcribe for the best summaries. The more the meeting captured, the richer the AI recap.
• Search transcripts instead of rewatching. Finding a keyword is far faster than scrubbing a recording.
• Turn action items into tasks. The summary's action items are a ready-made follow-up list — move them into your project or CRM.
• Give the meeting a clear title and agenda. Context in the description helps produce a more accurate summary.

Troubleshooting

• The transcript says pending or isn't ready. The transcript worker hasn't finished producing final segments. Wait a bit and refresh.
• "No transcript artifact has been requested." Transcription wasn't enabled for this meeting. Turn on transcription mode or request a transcript when recording next time.
• The summary is pending. Intelligence is still being extracted, or the meeting had little captured content. Ensure the meeting was recorded/transcribed.
• No artifacts at all. The meeting wasn't recorded and had transcription off, so there's nothing to summarize. Enable recording and transcription for future meetings.

Do I need to record to get a transcript?
Transcription is driven by the room's transcription mode or a transcript request. Recording plus transcription gives you the fullest set of artifacts.

How accurate are AI summaries?
Summaries are generated automatically and are a strong starting point. Always review decisions and action items before acting on them.

Can I search across a transcript?
Yes — transcripts are text you can read and search for specific words or moments.
