Quick answers to the most frequently asked questions about StretchMeet — accounts, guests, recordings, security, and limits.

Quick answers to the questions StretchMeet users ask most. For step-by-step detail, follow the links to the full articles.

Getting started

Do I need to install anything?
No. StretchMeet runs in your browser on its native media engine. Just allow camera and microphone access.

Which browsers work?
Modern versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Keep your browser up to date for the best experience.

How do I start my first meeting?
Open StretchMeet, click New meeting, set a title and time, create it, then click Start. See Getting Started with StretchMeet.

Guests and access

Do external guests need a StretchSuite account?
No. Guests can join a public room with just a display name and the passcode.

How do I keep uninvited people out?
Use the host approval lobby mode, keep the waiting room on, and require a passcode. Lock the room once everyone has arrived. See Controlling Meeting Access.

Can I restrict a meeting to my team only?
Yes — use the Workspace lobby mode so only signed-in workspace members can join.

Why did my join link stop working?
Join links are time-limited by design. Use a freshly shared link for the current meeting.

Hosting

Can more than one person host?
Yes. Assign co-hosts to share hosting duties. See Managing Participant Roles.

What's the difference between leaving and ending a meeting?
Leaving (closing your tab) may let the meeting continue for others. Ending closes it for everyone and stops recording. Always end when you're done.

How do I run small-group discussions?
Use breakout rooms — create them, assign participants, open, then close to reconvene. See Running Breakout Rooms.

How many people can be in a breakout?
You can assign up to 200 participants to a breakout.

Recordings and intelligence

How do I record a meeting?
Set the room's recording mode to automatic or manual, or start recording live. See Recording Your Meetings.

Can I record only part of a call?
Yes — with manual recording you start and stop whenever you like.

Where do recordings, transcripts, and summaries live?
They're stored as meeting artifacts in StretchSuite and listed under Recordings. See Transcripts, AI Summaries & Artifacts.

Does StretchMeet write meeting notes for me?
Yes — the AI summary produces a recap with decisions and action items. Review them before acting.

Integrations

Can I use a different video platform?
Yes — connect it as an external provider. See Choosing Between the Native Engine and External Providers.

Can meetings connect to my CRM and projects?
Yes. Link a meeting to a contact and project so the recording and summary stay with the record. See Connecting Meetings to CRM Contacts and Projects.

Can I trigger automations when meetings happen?
Yes — use webhook subscriptions for events like meeting.created. See Automating with Webhooks and Event Subscriptions.

Security and quality

Is meeting media secure?
The native engine carries media over encrypted real-time transport, and access controls (lobby, waiting room, passcodes, locking) keep unwanted people out.

Should I tell people I'm recording?
Yes — it's good practice and often legally required. Announce recording at the start.

A participant's video keeps freezing. Is StretchMeet down?
Usually it's their network. Open the Quality view — if only one person is affected, it's local. See Monitoring Meeting Quality and Connection Health.

Limits and cleanup

How long can a meeting be?
You can set a duration up to 1440 minutes (24 hours).

How do I clean up old meetings?
Meetings you no longer need can be cancelled or archived so they drop off active lists.

Who can see a meeting and its recordings?
Access follows your StretchSuite workspace permissions and any record the meeting is linked to.
