Getting Started with StretchLearn

What StretchLearn is

StretchLearn is the learning management system (LMS) inside StretchSuite. It is where you turn knowledge into structured courses, publish them to a catalog learners can browse, run quizzes that gate completion, track how people move from enrollment to completion, and issue a certificate as proof. It is StretchSuite's answer to platforms like Teachable — but your courses, learners, and completion data stay scoped to your own workspace.

Above is the StretchLearn surface as it opens inside your workspace. The app sits in the left workspace rail under Platform & AI. When the status chip near the top reads live, your catalog is connected and every count you see is pulled directly from your data.

Key concepts

Learn the vocabulary before you build — it maps directly to the buttons you'll click:

• Course — the top-level product a learner enrolls in. A course has a title, a catalog summary, a difficulty level, learning outcomes, and a publishing status.
• Module — a section inside a course that groups related lessons (for example, Week 1: Setup).
• Lesson — a single learning unit inside a module. Each lesson carries a type and an estimated runtime.
• Quiz (assessment) — a set of questions that can be attached to a course, a module, or a single lesson, with a passing score.
• Enrollment — the record that connects a learner to a course and holds their progress.
• Certificate — the verifiable completion proof issued to a learner who finishes.
• Learning path — a themed grouping of related courses. StretchLearn packages these automatically by category and level, and you can enforce order with prerequisites.
• Status — where a course sits in its lifecycle: draft (being authored), published (live in the catalog), or archived (retired).
• Visibility — who can see a published course: public or internal.

Tip: Hold the hierarchy in your head as Course → Modules → Lessons. A learner enrolls in the course, works through its lessons, may take a quiz, and earns a certificate at the end.

The working views

StretchLearn opens on a left rail with a New button and a set of views you switch between:

1. Dashboard — headline counts (courses, published, drafts, lessons, certificates) plus your learning-path packaging.
2. Catalog — the full list of your courses as a records table you can act on.
3. Builder — a focused view of one selected course: its outcomes, modules, lessons, and lifecycle actions.
4. Quizzes — author and manage the assessments attached to the selected course.
5. Analytics — completion, certification, and lesson-depth charts.
6. Records — the same actionable course table as Catalog, for quick edits.

Your first steps

1. Open StretchLearn from your workspace app rail (under Platform & AI). It loads on the Dashboard view.
2. Confirm the status chip near the hero reads live. If it does, your catalog is connected. A brand-new workspace shows "No dashboard data yet — create a course to unlock catalog metrics."
3. Click the blue New button at the top of the left rail. You'll be prompted for a Title, a Summary (the catalog blurb), and Learning outcomes (comma- or newline-separated).
4. Switch to the Catalog or Records view to see your new course in the table. It starts in Draft status with public visibility.
5. Click the course title to select it, then open the Builder view to add modules and lessons and confirm the shell looks right.
6. When you're ready to expose it to learners, click Publish on the course row (or in the Builder) and confirm. The status changes to Published and the course joins your live catalog.

Tip: Nothing is visible to learners until you publish it. Build freely in draft — only publishing exposes a course to your catalog.

A realistic first course

Suppose you run a coaching business and want to certify operators. You click New and enter:

Title:     Operator Certification
Summary:   Train operators and gate certificates on proof of skill.
Outcomes:  Run the daily checklist, Escalate incidents correctly, Pass the final quiz

StretchLearn creates a draft course card reading "Train operators and gate certificates on proof of skill," with three outcomes attached. You then add a module (Fundamentals), three lessons, a final quiz with a 70% passing score, and publish. Learners enroll, work through the lessons, pass the quiz, and receive a numbered certificate you can verify later.

Tips

• Keep the catalog summary to one plain-language sentence — it's the first thing a prospect reads.
• Add learning outcomes early. They frame the course for you while you build and for learners before they enroll.
• Use draft status as your workspace. Publish only when a course is complete enough to stand on its own.
• Check the Dashboard after publishing — the published count should tick up immediately.
