General
What is StretchForms? It's the StretchSuite app for building intake forms and surveys, collecting responses, and routing them to the right team — the suite's answer to Typeform, built for business operations.
Is my data private? Yes. Every form and response is scoped to your organization and served through the workspace gateway, which hard-filters every read and write to your workspace. No other organization can see or change your data.
Can the public reach my forms directly? The public form builder and public writes are off by default. Forms live inside your authenticated workspace.
Building forms
What field types are available? Short text, long text, email, phone, number, date, dropdown/choice, and checkbox — each with required rules, placeholders, and (for choice fields) options.
Can I split a long form into steps? Yes. Multi-step forms are supported, and respondents can leave and resume via a resume token (partial saves).
Can fields appear based on earlier answers? Yes — conditional logic shows or hides fields (and whole steps) based on prior answers, and validation rules keep answers clean.
Can AI build a form for me? Where enabled for your workspace, yes — describe the form in plain English and StretchForms drafts a title and fields for you to review, edit, and publish. It only ever produces a draft.
Publishing and status
How do I make a form live? Set its status to Active (also shown as Published). Draft, Paused, and Archived forms don't accept responses.
What's the difference between Pause and Archive? Pause temporarily stops new responses and can be reversed; Archive retires the form while keeping it and its analytics for the record.
Should I ever delete a form? Rarely. Prefer Archive so you keep responses and analytics. Delete only for mistakes or true duplicates. Deletes require a write action token and are audited.
Responses and routing
Where do responses go? To the Intelligence inbox for triage. Contact and quote forms also route automatically to Messaging › Submissions.
How does automatic routing decide? If a form's type, key, or title signals a contact or quote, StretchForms sets the target app to Messaging and the default team to Submissions.
Can I assign responses to people? Yes. In the inbox you can assign a submission to a team or teammate, add notes, and follow its event and assignment history.
What are routing modes? Manual review (default), Team route, App handoff, and Dry-run algorithm route (recommended, applied by a person).
Intelligence engine
What does the engine do? When enabled, it computes read-only signals for each submission: spam score/risk, PII detection, routing recommendation, and validation quality.
Can it change or auto-route my submissions? No. Classification is read-only. Handoff scoring, support prioritization, and automated assignment are dry-run only, autonomous mutation is off, and any persisted output is audited.
Why don't I see classification signals? The engine is gated per workspace. Without it you still get the full inbox and triage tools. Ask your administrator to enable it.
Webhooks and analytics
Can I send submissions to other tools? Yes — configure outbound webhooks. Payloads are HMAC-SHA256 signed and timestamped, retried automatically (default 3 attempts, max 5), and logged. There's a one-click test.
How do I verify a webhook is genuine? Recompute the HMAC over "<timestamp>.<rawBody>" with your signing secret and compare to the v1 value in the x-stretchforms-signature header.
What can I measure? Views, step completions, fields answered, submits, total and 7-day submissions, and partial saves — per form and in a totals view — so you can find and fix drop-off.
Still stuck?
See Troubleshooting Forms and Submissions for step-by-step fixes, or contact support with your form key, the approximate time of the issue, and (for webhooks) the delivery status code and error from the log.
