StretchDrive is the file storage and sharing layer of StretchSuite. It gives your workspace one secure home for every document, spreadsheet, image, PDF, export, and asset your team works with — organized into folders, protected by fine-grained permissions, and shareable inside or outside your organization. You reach it from the left navigation under Content & Creative → StretchDrive.

What StretchDrive is for

Every business accumulates files: contracts, brand assets, invoices, reports, data exports, screenshots, and the working documents behind them. StretchDrive replaces scattered email attachments, personal cloud accounts, and shared network folders with a single workspace-owned repository where access is controlled, storage is measured, and nothing is lost when someone leaves the team. Because it lives inside StretchSuite, the files you store here also feed the other apps you already use — a text file can open straight into StretchDocs, a CSV can open into StretchSheets, and exports from your commerce, forms, and analytics tools can be filed away without leaving the suite.

Who it's for

StretchDrive is built for whole teams, not just individuals. Workspace owners and admins get full oversight of everything stored under the organization, while everyday members get a personal My Drive and access to any folders shared with them. It suits agencies managing client deliverables, operations teams keeping SOPs and records, finance teams archiving statements, and creative teams storing brand assets — anyone who needs files to be organized, findable, and safely shared.

Key capabilities

  • My Drive and folders — A personal, private space for your files, plus nested folders you can create, rename, and move to keep everything structured. Deleting a folder safely moves its whole contents to Trash together.
  • Fast, resumable uploads — Drag files onto the page or use Upload file. Large files upload in chunks and can resume after a dropped connection, and every upload is checksum-verified end to end. Single files up to 5 GB are supported.
  • Previews without downloading — Text, Markdown, CSV/TSV, and code files render as clean formatted previews in your browser, and common image formats display inline — so you can glance at a file without downloading it.
  • Open in StretchDocs and StretchSheets — Turn a text or Markdown file into an editable StretchDocs document, or a CSV into a StretchSheets workbook, in one click.
  • Version history — Uploading a new copy of a file keeps the old one. Every version is retained immutably, and you can review who changed what and restore any previous version.
  • Sharing your way — Grant a specific person, a group, or your entire organization one of four roles (Viewer, Commenter, Editor, Owner), or publish an "anyone with the link" share link with an optional password, expiry date, and download toggle. Revoke access at any time.
  • Search that reads inside files — Find items by name, and for text-based files, by the words inside them, with a highlighted snippet showing the match.
  • Trash and recovery — Deleted items sit in Trash until you restore them or empty it, so accidental deletions are recoverable.
  • Storage you can see — A live Storage card shows how much of your plan's quota you've used (15 GB on Core, 50 GB on Pro, 150 GB on Agency).

How it fits the suite

StretchDrive is one app in the StretchSuite workspace, sharing the same login, organization, roles, and billing as the rest of your tools. Access is governed by your workspace membership: owners and admins always have Drive, and other members get it when the Files app is enabled for them. Files are stored per-organization and are never mixed between workspaces, downloads use short-lived signed links, and the underlying storage locations are never exposed to the browser. The result is a file platform that behaves like a consumer cloud drive but with the access control, auditability, and tenancy isolation a business needs.

Where to start

If you're new, begin with Getting Started with StretchDrive for a guided tour and your first upload, then explore Uploading Files and Organizing Folders and Sharing Files and Folders. Administrators and power users should read Drive Roles and Permissions, Security and Data Protection, and Managing Storage and Quotas.
