General
What is StretchDocs? The document workspace inside StretchSuite for writing and governing business documents — SOPs, specs, meeting notes, handoffs, and policies — with status, folders, owners, versions, templates, real-time collaboration, and Document Intelligence.
How is it different from a file drive? Every document carries governance metadata (status, folder, owner, version, word count) and lives in a searchable, collaborative editor — not as a loose file with a cryptic name.
Does it work the same for admins and customers? Yes. StretchDocs behaves identically on the admin (agency) surface and the customer workspace, with strict per-organization data isolation.
Access
Who can use StretchDocs? Organization owners and admins always have access; other members need the Docs app granted to them. See Workspace Access and Permissions.
Can other organizations see my documents? No. Documents are isolated per organization. Only the shared starter templates are common, and they contain no customer data.
Why do I see "You do not have access to this workspace app"? Your membership doesn't include Docs. Ask an owner or admin to grant it.
Documents
What are the document statuses? Draft, Review, Published, and Archived.
How long can a title be? Up to 180 characters.
What happens when I delete a document? It's archived (soft-deleted), not destroyed. Restore it by setting its status back to Draft or Published.
Why did my document jump to the top of the library? Any save updates its timestamp, and the library sorts by most recently updated.
Editing and collaboration
Do I have to save manually? No — content is committed and versioned automatically as you work. You can also capture named snapshots deliberately.
Can multiple people edit at once? Yes. Real-time co-editing shows live presence (who's in the room, their cursor and color).
Why did some pasted formatting disappear? StretchDocs strips unsafe markup (scripts, iframes, event handlers, javascript: links) on save for security. Visible text and standard formatting are preserved.
What's the difference between a comment and a suggestion? A comment is anchored discussion; a suggestion is a proposed text change the author can accept or reject.
Versions and templates
What's the difference between a version and a snapshot? Versions are automatic on every content save; snapshots are named restore points you create on purpose.
Can I make my own templates? The built-in templates (SOP, Product Spec, Meeting Notes, Client Handoff) are platform-maintained. For an organization-specific starter, keep a well-structured Published document and duplicate its content.
Does editing a template change existing documents? No. Templates are copied at creation; your document is independent afterward.
Document Intelligence and AI
What does Document Intelligence measure? Structure/quality score, readability, document stats (word/sentence/heading/list counts, read time), an extractive summary, and top keywords. It's read-only.
Why is analysis or AI summary unavailable? Both are gated capabilities that must be enabled for your organization. If they're off, the rest of StretchDocs works normally.
Is the AI summary the same as Document Intelligence? No. Document Intelligence is deterministic analysis; the AI summary is model-generated prose with key points and action items.
Export
What formats can I export? HTML (readable, self-contained), plain text, and JSON (structured, for backup/migration).
Can I export to PDF or Word? Export HTML, then print to PDF from a browser or open it in your word processor.
