Smart Tools: Magic Resize, Palettes, Brand & Quality Checks, and AI Feedback

Overview

StretchDesign includes a set of smart tools that automate the fiddly parts of design and quality control: resizing, color palettes, quality checks, brand checks, and AI feedback. Some of these run on an optional design engine and AI service your workspace administrator enables — if a tool below isn't available in your workspace, that's why; ask your admin to turn it on.

Magic Resize

Magic Resize rescales a finished design's whole layout to a new canvas size, so you don't rebuild it by hand for each channel.

1. Open the design you want to resize.
2. Start Magic Resize and enter the target width and target height in pixels.
3. StretchDesign scales the geometry of every element to fit the new canvas.
4. Choose whether to save the result as a new design. If you do, it's created as a fresh design named like Original Name (1080×1920), leaving your original untouched.

Example: You finished a 1080 × 1080 square post. Resize it to 1080 × 1920 and save as new to get a matching story version in seconds, then nudge a couple of elements to use the extra vertical space.

Palette generation

Generate a coordinated color palette to kick off a look or fill out a brand kit.

1. Open palette generation.
2. Optionally set a seed color (a hex value to build around) and a scheme (a color harmony, such as complementary or analogous).
3. Set how many colors you want (count) — up to 64.
4. StretchDesign returns a harmonized set. Apply colors to elements, or add the ones you like to a brand kit.

Design quality check

The quality check runs an automated review of a design and flags common problems — for example, low-contrast text that's hard to read or elements that fall outside the canvas.

1. Open a design and run Check (or run it from the Designs grid).
2. Review the reported issues and fix them.
3. The result is cached on the design, so a check indicator appears on its card in the Designs list — letting you spot designs that need attention without opening each one.

Brand consistency check

The brand check compares a design's colors and fonts against a brand kit and flags anything off-brand — a stray color, or a font that isn't in your guidelines.

1. Attach a brand kit to the design (or supply one when you run the check).
2. Run Brand check.
3. Review flagged mismatches and correct them so the design matches your brand guidelines.

A brand check requires a brand kit — if the design has none, attach one first.

AI design feedback

Where your workspace has AI enabled, StretchDesign can analyze a design image and return an at-a-glance read: its visual style, the color palette it detects (with hex values), the key elements it sees, and brief, constructive feedback.

1. Run AI feedback on a design (it analyzes a preview image of your work).
2. Read the returned style summary, palette, element list, and suggestions.
3. Use the feedback to guide a revision pass.

AI feedback is fail-safe: if the AI service is turned off or unavailable, StretchDesign simply reports that it's unavailable rather than blocking your work.

Realistic example

You finish a campaign hero graphic. First you run a quality check — it flags that a caption has low contrast against the photo, so you darken the overlay. Next you run a brand check against your brand kit — it catches an old accent color, which you swap for the current one. You then use Magic Resize to spin up story and banner versions saved as new designs. Finally, you run AI feedback on the hero, which suggests tightening the headline hierarchy — a quick win before you publish.

Tips

• Run the quality check as a final step before publishing so contrast and off-canvas issues never reach your audience.
• Keep a brand kit current so brand checks stay meaningful.
• Use Magic Resize + save-as-new to produce a full set of channel sizes from one master design.
• Seed a brand palette with palette generation, then curate the best colors into your kit.

Troubleshooting

A smart tool says the engine is disabled or is unavailable. The design engine that powers checks, palettes, and resize is enabled by your administrator. Ask your workspace admin to turn it on.

Brand check says there's no brand kit. Attach a brand kit to the design (or supply one at check time), then re-run.

AI feedback returns nothing / says unavailable. The AI service isn't enabled or is temporarily unready in your workspace. This is expected and harmless — your design is unaffected. Ask your admin about enabling AI.

Palette generation rejected my input. The color count must be between 1 and 64, and the seed must be a valid color value. Adjust and retry.

Magic Resize needs dimensions. Both a target width and target height are required, and both must be positive whole numbers.
