Getting Started with StretchDesign

What is StretchDesign?

StretchDesign is the visual design app built into your StretchSuite workspace. Use it to create social posts, marketing graphics, presentations, flyers, and other visuals on a drag-and-drop canvas — without leaving StretchSuite. It is the suite's equivalent of tools like Canva, with everything kept private to your organization.

When you open StretchDesign from your workspace, it loads the full editor as an embedded surface. From there you can browse templates, open existing designs, upload your own images, and start creating.

Key concepts

A few terms show up throughout StretchDesign:

• Design — a single project file. It has a name, a canvas size (width × height in pixels), a status (draft or published), and one or more pages.
• Page (artboard) — a canvas within a design. A design can hold several pages, so an entire campaign or multi-slide layout lives in one file.
• Element — anything you place on the canvas: text, an image, a shape, a table, a QR code, or a chart.
• Template — a pre-built starter design you can open and customize instead of starting blank.
• Brand kit — a saved set of brand colors, fonts, and a logo that keeps your work on-brand.
• Asset — an image or logo you upload into a shared library your organization can reuse.
• Version — an automatic snapshot of a design saved each time it changes, so you can go back in time.

Opening StretchDesign

1. Sign in to your StretchSuite workspace.
2. Open the app launcher and select StretchDesign.
3. The home dashboard loads, showing summary counts for your library — total designs, published designs, brand kits, templates, and assets — plus quick access to recent work.

Everything you see is scoped to your organization. Teammates in the same organization share the same design library, templates, brand kits, and uploads.

Create your first design

You can start from a blank canvas or from a template.

From a blank canvas

1. From the dashboard, choose Create a design (or the equivalent new-design button).
2. Give the design a name — for example, Spring Sale — Instagram.
3. Set a canvas size. The default is 1080 × 1080 pixels (a square social post), but you can enter any width and height.
4. The editor opens with an empty canvas. Add your first element from the left-hand panels — start with Text or Elements.
5. Your work autosaves as you go. There is no separate "save" step to remember.

From a template

1. Open the Templates gallery from the dashboard or the editor's Templates panel.
2. Filter by category to narrow the choices, then click a template to preview it.
3. Select Use this template. It opens as a new design pre-filled with the template's layout.
4. Replace the placeholder text and images with your own, then keep editing as normal.

Realistic example

Say you need a promo graphic for a weekend sale. Open the Templates gallery, pick a bold sale layout, click Use this template, then double-click the headline and change it to 20% Off — This Weekend Only. Drag your logo in from Uploads, recolor the background to match your brand, and you have a finished post in a couple of minutes. It's already saved and in your Designs list.

Find your way around

• Dashboard — library summary and recent designs.
• Designs — the searchable list of everything you've created, newest activity first, each showing its status and thumbnail.
• Editor — the canvas plus side panels for Templates, Elements, Uploads, Text, Brand Kit, Layers, Position, and Export.

Tips

• Name designs descriptively (channel + campaign + size) so they're easy to find later.
• Set up a brand kit early — it makes every future design faster and keeps colors and fonts consistent.
• Start from a template when you can; it's the quickest path to a polished result.
• You don't need to save manually — StretchDesign autosaves and records a version on every change.
