Exporting, Presenting, and Publishing Designs

Overview

Once a design is finished, StretchDesign gives you three ways to get value from it: export it as a file, present it full-screen, and publish it so your team knows it's done. This guide covers all three.

Exporting a design

Export turns your design into a downloadable file in the format that fits its destination.

1. Open the design and choose Export from the toolbar.
2. Pick a format:
- PNG — best for web and social; supports transparency. The go-to for most digital use.
- JPG — smaller files for photos where transparency isn't needed.
- SVG — crisp, scalable vector output — ideal for logos and graphics that must stay sharp at any size.
- PDF — best for print and multi-page documents; a multi-page design exports as a single PDF, one page per canvas.
3. Confirm the export. The file downloads to your device.

Choosing the right format

• Posting to social or the web? PNG (or JPG for heavy photos).
• Sending to a printer or sharing a document? PDF.
• Handing a logo or icon to a developer? SVG.

Presenting a design

Present mode runs your design full-screen, one page at a time — useful for pitching a concept, walking a client through a deck, or reviewing a multi-page layout as your audience will see it.

1. Open the design.
2. Choose Present.
3. Advance through pages in order; exit to return to the editor.

Because present mode follows your page order, arrange your pages before presenting.

Publishing (design status)

Every design has a status: draft or published. Setting a finished design to published signals it's done, keeps it out of your working drafts, and increments the published count on your dashboard.

1. Open the design.
2. Set its status to published.
3. Filter your Designs list by status any time to separate finished work from drafts.

Publishing doesn't lock anything — you can keep editing a published design, and it stays published until you change it back.

Realistic example

You finish a five-slide investor deck built as a five-page design. You run a quality check, fix a low-contrast slide, then use Present to rehearse it full-screen. Happy with it, you Export as a single PDF to email to attendees and export slide three separately as a PNG for the social teaser. Finally, you set the design's status to published so the team knows it's the approved, final version.

Tips

• Match the format to the destination: PNG/JPG for screens, PDF for print and documents, SVG for scalable vector art.
• Order your pages before exporting a PDF or presenting — export and present both follow page order.
• Run a quality check before exporting so contrast and off-canvas issues don't ship in the file.
• Mark work published when it's final — it keeps your library organized and your dashboard counts honest.

Troubleshooting

My PDF has the pages in the wrong order. Reorder the pages in the editor; PDF export follows canvas order.

My exported image looks blurry. Export at the design's native size, and prefer SVG for anything that needs to scale up sharply (like a logo). Avoid enlarging a small raster export after the fact.

Transparency turned white in my export. JPG doesn't support transparency — export as PNG to keep a transparent background.

A published design still shows edits I'm making. Publishing is a status, not a lock. If you don't want further changes, simply stop editing; the file remains as published.
