Collaborating with Comments and Real-Time Editing

Overview

StretchDesign is built for teams. Two features make collaboration smooth: comments for asynchronous feedback and real-time editing for working together live. Both are scoped to your organization, so only your teammates can see and join.

Comments

Comments let reviewers give precise feedback without editing the design themselves. A comment can be pinned to a page or to a specific element, so feedback lands exactly where it applies.

Leave a comment

1. Open a design and open the Comments panel.
2. To comment on a specific element, select that element first; to comment on a page in general, select the page.
3. Type your comment and post it.
4. The comment is pinned to that page (and to the element, if one was selected) so everyone sees the context.

Resolve and reopen

1. When feedback has been addressed, choose Resolve on the comment. It moves out of the active list.
2. By default the comment list shows only open comments; switch on include resolved to see the full history.
3. If something needs another look, reopen a resolved comment and it returns to the active list.

Realistic example

A reviewer opens the draft flyer, selects the headline, and comments "Can we make this the brand navy?" and, on the page generally, "Add the event date near the bottom." The designer applies the brand navy, resolves the first comment, adds the date, and resolves the second. The reviewer switches on include resolved, confirms both were handled, and gives the go-ahead.

Real-time editing

Multiple teammates can open and edit the same design at the same time, with live presence so you can see who else is in the file.

How it works

1. Open a design in the editor.
2. When a teammate opens the same design, StretchDesign connects everyone to a shared live session.
3. You'll see collaborators' presence, and edits sync between everyone as they happen.
4. Combined with autosave and version history, live edits are captured as versions too — so the shared file always has a recoverable trail.

Working well together live

• Coordinate who's working on which page to avoid two people editing the same element at once.
• Use comments alongside live editing to leave notes that persist after the session ends.
• Lean on version history if a live session goes sideways — you can always restore a known-good snapshot.

Tips

• Pin comments to the exact element you mean — it removes ambiguity for whoever fixes it.
• Resolve comments as you address them so the open list always reflects outstanding work.
• Turn on include resolved during a final review to confirm nothing slipped through.
• For big reviews, split the work by page so live collaborators don't collide.

Troubleshooting

Real-time editing isn't connecting. Refresh the editor and check your network connection. Live collaboration needs an active connection to your workspace; if it won't connect, reopen the design.

I don't see a teammate's edits. Confirm you're both in the same design and the same organization, and that your session is connected. Refreshing re-establishes the live session and pulls the latest state.

A comment disappeared. It was probably resolved. Switch on include resolved to see it, and reopen it if it still needs attention.

We edited over each other. Open version history and restore the snapshot from just before the collision, then divide the work by page or element.
