Dashboard, Forecasting, and Reporting

Read your CRM's health at a glance, turn raw pipeline into a weighted forecast, and understand what each dashboard metric means.

The StretchCRM dashboard gives you an at‑a‑glance read on the health of your sales, service, and activity. This guide explains each metric, how to turn your pipeline into a forecast, and how to use the numbers to run your week.

The overview metrics

Your dashboard summarizes your organization's CRM in a handful of numbers:

  • Active contacts — how many live people you're tracking (only active‑status contacts count).
  • Active companies — how many live accounts.
  • Open deals — the count of opportunities still in play (status open).
  • Open pipeline value — the total dollar amount of those open deals, summed to the cent.
  • Open tickets — support requests still needing attention.
  • Recent activity — how many activities your team has logged in the last 30 days, a proxy for engagement and momentum.
  • Automations — how many workflows are configured (draft or active).

Because the dashboard counts only active/open records, it's a true picture of live work — closed deals and resolved tickets drop out automatically.

From pipeline to forecast

Open pipeline value is the raw total of your open deals. To forecast realistically, weight each deal by its stage's win probability:

Expected value = deal amount × stage win probability

Using the default Sales Pipeline probabilities — New Lead 10%, Qualified 25%, Discovery 40%, Proposal Sent 65%, Negotiation 80%, Closed Won 100% — you can convert a raw pipeline into an expected‑revenue number.

Worked example

Suppose you have two open deals:

DealAmountStageProbabilityExpected value
Northstar brand system$18,500Proposal Sent65%$12,025
Prairie managed growth retainer$32,000Discovery40%$12,800

Your open pipeline value is $50,500, but your weighted forecast is about $24,825. When Prairie advances from Discovery to Proposal Sent, its expected value rises from $12,800 to $20,800 — and your forecast climbs accordingly. That's why keeping stages current is the single most important habit for accurate forecasting.

Reading the pipeline board

The pipeline board breaks deals out by stage, showing the count and total open value in each. Use it to spot:

  • Bottlenecks — a pile‑up in one stage (e.g. lots stuck in Discovery) signals a step in your process that needs attention.
  • Coverage — whether you have enough early‑stage volume to hit future targets.
  • Concentration risk — a forecast that depends on one or two large late‑stage deals.

Using the numbers to run your week

  1. Start with recent activity. Low activity is an early warning that follow‑up is slipping.
  2. Scan open tickets. Clear urgent and high‑priority support first — service issues sink renewals.
  3. Work the weighted forecast. Prioritize the deals that move the expected‑value number most (usually late‑stage, high‑amount opportunities).
  4. Chase stale deals. Deals that haven't advanced or been touched recently are your risk list — log a next step or move the stage.

Tips

  • Weight, don't just sum. Raw pipeline flatters you; weighted expected value tells the truth.
  • Keep close dates honest. They power period forecasts and reveal slipping deals.
  • Watch activity as a leading indicator. Revenue lags effort — the recent‑activity count often predicts next month's pipeline.
  • Combine dashboard + intelligence. Pair these metrics with StretchCRM's governed intelligence signals for a deeper, human‑reviewed read on risk and health.

FAQ

Does the dashboard include closed deals or resolved tickets? No. It counts active contacts/companies, open deals, and open tickets — completed work drops out, so the numbers reflect live work only.

Why is my open pipeline value higher than my forecast? Open pipeline is the raw sum; a realistic forecast weights each deal by its stage probability, which is almost always lower than the raw total.

How current is the data? The dashboard reflects your live records — as you add contacts, move deals, and resolve tickets, the numbers update to match.
