What a brand profile is
A brand profile is one saved brand fingerprint plus its metadata — the subject you absorbed, how many source pages it read, the underlying model, and when it was built. Profiles are the library you generate from. You can hold as many as you need, which is what makes StretchBAS work equally well for a single business and for an agency managing dozens of clients.
Every profile is organization-scoped: it belongs to your workspace and is never visible to any other organization.
Creating a profile
Creating a profile is the same action as absorbing a brand.
- Open StretchBAS → Absorb.
- Enter the brand's domain (for example
paynecoaching.co) as the subject. - (Optional) Point it at a specific StretchSearch project to read only those pages.
- Run it. A new profile is created with status ready. This spends 1 credit and is refunded if it fails.
Each absorb creates a separate profile, so you can safely absorb the same brand twice (for example to compare two crawls) without overwriting anything.
Viewing and listing profiles
The Profiles view lists your brand fingerprints newest-first, showing the subject, source-page count, model, and creation date. Select any profile to open its full detail and read every captured field. The number of ready profiles is also shown on the Profiles stat card at the top of the dashboard.
Editing a profile
You can correct the client-tunable fields — voice, tone, themes, and value propositions — at any time, for free. Open the profile, choose Edit, adjust the fields, and save. Changes take effect on your next generation. See Understanding and Editing Your Brand Fingerprint for a field-by-field guide.
Archiving (deleting) a profile
When a brand is no longer active — a client leaves, or a fingerprint is superseded — archive it to keep your Profiles list clean.
- Open the profile you want to remove.
- Choose Delete / Archive.
- The profile is archived and drops out of your active Profiles list.
Archiving is a soft delete: the record is retained but hidden, so your history and ledger stay intact. Content you already generated from that profile remains in History.
Refreshing a profile after changes
Profiles do not update themselves. If your website messaging changes, absorb the brand again to build a fresh fingerprint from the new content. A good refresh routine:
- Re-crawl the brand in StretchSearch so the index reflects your current pages.
- Absorb the brand again in StretchBAS (1 credit).
- Review and lightly edit the new fingerprint.
- Archive the old profile once you are happy with the new one.
Running multiple brands (agencies)
StretchBAS is built for multi-brand work:
- Absorb each client's site into its own profile.
- Name and organize them so your team can pick the right one when generating.
- Because everything is workspace-scoped, one client's fingerprint, generations, and credits can never leak into another's.
Example
A small agency holds four profiles: their own brand, plus Payne Coaching Co., Northwind Dental, and Cedar & Co. Realty. When a request comes in for Payne Coaching, the strategist selects that profile in Generate, produces a content pack, and every piece lands in Payne's voice — with no cross-contamination from the other three brands.
Tips
- One profile per distinct voice. If a brand runs a formal B2B tone on its site and a playful tone on social, absorb two profiles and pick the right one per task.
- Name profiles clearly so teammates never generate from the wrong brand.
- Archive rather than abandon. Keeping stale profiles around invites mistakes; archive them and they disappear from the picker.
- Refresh on a cadence. Re-absorb after any major site or positioning change so your content never drifts from your live brand.
Troubleshooting
- "Brand profile not found." The profile was archived, or you are in a different workspace than the one that created it. Switch to the correct workspace or absorb the brand again.
- Profile count shows 0 after absorbing. The absorb may have failed (and refunded). Check that your site is crawled and try again.
- I edited a profile but content didn't change. Edits apply to your next generation, not to content already in History. Generate a fresh piece to see the change.
