Scheduling Email Exports

Send a recurring CSV or summary of your analytics to a list of recipients on a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence.

What a scheduled email export does

A scheduled email export delivers your analytics to people's inboxes on a repeating cadence, so the team stays informed without opening the app. You choose the recipients, the frequency, an optional event to focus on, and whether they receive a full CSV or a compact summary. Under the hood a schedule is a specialized report view, so it lives alongside your other reports.

Anatomy of a schedule

  • title — the schedule's name (required).
  • description — what it's for.
  • recipients — the email addresses to send to (up to 20).
  • frequencydaily, weekly, or monthly.
  • event_name — an optional event to focus the export on.
  • formatcsv (full rows) or summary (a compact digest).
  • statusactive, paused, or archived.

Step-by-step: create a schedule

  1. Open StretchAnalytics and go to Email schedules.
  2. Choose New schedule.
  3. Enter a title (required).
  4. Add recipients — at least one email address is required; you can add up to 20.
  5. Choose a frequency: daily, weekly, or monthly.
  6. Optionally set an event_name to focus the export (for example form_submission).
  7. Choose a format: csv or summary.
  8. Save. The schedule is created with status active.

Step-by-step: edit or pause a schedule

  1. Open the schedule from your list.
  2. Choose Edit to change recipients, frequency, event focus, or format.
  3. To stop sending temporarily, set status to paused; to remove it, set it to archived.
  4. Save.

Example

A support manager creates a schedule titled "Weekly support digest," adds three recipients, sets frequency to weekly, focuses it on support-related activity, and picks the summary format so leadership gets a readable digest rather than a raw file. Separately, the data team gets a csv schedule of form_submission events every Monday to load into their warehouse. Both run automatically.

Tips

  • Use summary for executives and csv for analysts — same data, right shape for each audience.
  • Match frequency to cadence: daily for operational metrics, weekly for team reviews, monthly for leadership.
  • Keep recipient lists tight (you can add up to 20) and use a shared alias where possible so you don't edit the schedule every time someone joins.
  • Pause a schedule during a holiday freeze instead of deleting it, then reactivate later.

Troubleshooting

"Schedule title and at least one recipient are required." Add a title and at least one valid email address, then save.

A recipient isn't getting emails. Confirm the address is on the schedule and spelled correctly, check spam folders, and make sure the schedule status is active, not paused.

I need a different file than the schedule sends. Adjust the format and event_name on the schedule, or run a one-off CSV export for an ad-hoc pull.
