How app access, tiers, and entitlements work

Access is tied to your workspace, not to downloads

StretchSuite apps aren't things you download and license individually. Access is tied to your StretchSuite workspace. When you sign in, the platform determines what's active for your organization based on three things: your organization, your access tier, and what has been entitled (purchased/approved) for you.

This is why, for example, StretchWP has no license keys — it's delivered as a managed service governed by your workspace, not by an activation code.

Access tiers

Each app is associated with an access level that reflects how it's made available:

• Core — foundational access included with the workspace (StretchWP is a Core, always-available app).
• Pro — access tied to higher service tiers (many client apps like Social and Shop sit here).
• Agency — access geared toward agency, reseller, and developer use (StretchDev is Agency-level).
• Service plan — access tied to an active service engagement.

Your My Apps launcher shows the access level on each app, so you can understand why something is active, gated, or still being prepared.

Active, gated, and in-progress

The launcher is designed to be transparent. For each app you can see whether it is:

• Active — entitled for your organization and ready to use.
• Gated — behind an access tier or purchase your organization doesn't have yet. You'll typically see an upgrade path.
• Still being built — shown as planned, coming-soon, or a placeholder preview during rollout.

How entitlements get set

Entitlements — the record of what your org is allowed to use — are updated in a few ways:

1. Purchase in Billing. Buying an app, bundle, pick-5, or plan via Stripe Checkout updates your entitlements automatically after the payment webhook syncs. The app then flips to Active in My Apps.
2. Plan/tier changes. Moving to a higher tier unlocks the apps associated with it.
3. Service engagements. Some access is granted as part of an active service plan.

Because entitlements are checked at the gateway and per app, access is consistent everywhere — the launcher, the app itself, and any related admin surfaces all agree.

A realistic example

A new organization signs up and explores the launcher:

1. StretchWP shows Active (Core) — it's included, so they request a site immediately.
2. StretchShop shows Gated (Pro) with an upgrade path — they don't have it yet.
3. They open Billing, buy the Shop app via Stripe Checkout.
4. Moments later (after the webhook sync) StretchShop flips to Active in My Apps.
5. StretchDev still shows Agency — beyond their current tier — so they know developer/API features require an upgrade.
6. A couple of apps show Coming soon, so they know those are planned, not broken.

Troubleshooting

An app I paid for is still gated — entitlements refresh after the payment webhook; give it a moment and refresh My Apps. If it persists, contact support with your checkout confirmation (see Webhooks and real-time sync).

An app shows Active but won't load data — that's usually a workspace/session issue, not entitlement. Confirm you've selected the right organization; the gateway needs a signed session and a chosen org.

A teammate can't see an app I can — access can vary by role within the organization, and by which organization they're viewing. Check their membership and role.

"Access needs an active workspace" — you haven't selected an organization. Choose one in the workspace switcher.

Tips

• Read the tier badge on each app to understand why it's active or gated — it tells you exactly what unlocks it.
• Entitlements are per organization. If you belong to several organizations, each has its own set of active apps; switch context to see the right one.
• Don't look for license keys — there aren't any. Access is your workspace and your plan.
