Start from the goal, not the app
With around 30 apps available, the fastest way to choose is to start from what you're trying to accomplish this month, then work backward to the app. This article maps common goals to the right starting app so you don't have to learn the whole catalog first.
Match your goal to an app
"I need to keep track of leads and clients."
Start with StretchCRM. Add your contacts and companies, then track deals through a pipeline. It's the backbone that most other apps connect to.
"I need to get paid."
Start with StretchBooks. Create invoices and estimates, log expenses, and record payments. If your clients already live in StretchCRM, invoicing them is a couple of clicks.
"I need people to book time with me."
Start with StretchSchedule for booking pages and availability, paired with StretchCalendar so everything lands on one calendar, and StretchMeet if those bookings are video calls.
"I need to manage projects and to-dos."
Use StretchTasks for lightweight task lists and StretchProjects for larger, milestone-driven delivery work. Many teams use both — tasks roll up into projects.
"I need to send marketing email."
Start with StretchMail for campaigns and lists. Pair it with StretchForms to capture signups and StretchCRM to hold the audience.
"I need a website or landing pages."
Use StretchPages for landing pages and microsites, or StretchWP if you specifically want managed WordPress hosting. Use Domains to attach your own web address.
"I need to sell products online."
Start with StretchShop for storefronts, products, and checkout, then add StretchAnalytics to understand what's converting.
"I need to store and share files."
Start with StretchDrive for folders, uploads, sharing, and versions — your creative and document storage for the whole workspace.
"I need to sign agreements."
Use StretchContracts for templates, e-signature, and renewals.
"I need design assets."
Use StretchDesign for brand kits, templates, and graphics.
"I want AI help."
Use StretchGPT for AI chat and assistants.
A worked example
Imagine Harbor & Vine, a small marketing studio onboarding its first three retainer clients. Their goals in priority order are: (1) keep client details organized, (2) get engagement letters signed, (3) invoice monthly, and (4) store deliverables. Mapping goals to apps gives them a clear starting set: StretchCRM → StretchContracts → StretchBooks → StretchDrive. They ignore the other 26 apps for now. That focus is the point — you adopt what serves this month's goal and expand later.
How to decide in practice
- Write down your top three goals for the next 30 days. Be concrete: "send my first newsletter," not "do marketing."
- Map each goal to one starting app using the list above.
- Check the app's access tier on the My Apps launcher to confirm your plan includes it (or plan to add it).
- Adopt one app at a time. Get real data into it before moving to the next.
- Revisit monthly. As one goal is handled, the next goal points you to the next app.
Tips
- Pick the app that owns the data first. StretchCRM (contacts) and StretchDrive (files) are common anchors because so many other apps reference them.
- You can always add more later. Choosing a starting app is not a commitment to ignore the rest — it's just sequencing.
- When two apps seem to overlap, read both app hubs' overviews. StretchTasks vs StretchProjects and StretchSchedule vs StretchCalendar are the two pairs new customers ask about most; each pair is designed to work together, not compete.
FAQ
Can I use apps from different categories together? Yes — that's the entire point of a suite. A contact in Operations (CRM) can receive email from Comms & Legal (StretchMail) and a contract from the same category, all from one organization.
What if my plan doesn't include the app I need? You'll see it locked in My Apps with its required tier. You can upgrade your membership or buy that app individually. See How plans and app access work.
