The big picture
Which apps you can open in StretchSuite comes down to one thing: your organization's entitlements. An entitlement is simply a record that says "this organization is allowed to use this app." You gain entitlements in two ways — by subscribing to a membership plan, or by buying individual apps or bundles. Once your organization has the entitlement, the app unlocks in the workspace for everyone in that organization.
The two ways to get access
1. Membership plans
A membership is the simplest way to unlock a whole tier of apps at once. StretchSuite offers three:
- Core — the base plan for solo clients and starter workspaces. Includes the client workspace, core app visibility, support intake, and a starter allocation of managed WordPress (StretchWP) sites.
- Pro — for growing teams. Everything in Core, plus expanded app access, the custom-domain workflow, white-label brand controls, and priority support.
- Agency — for agencies, multi-brand operators, and resellers. Everything in Pro, plus a multi-brand workspace model, deeper rebrand controls, and reseller-ready packaging.
Each app carries an access tier label (Core, Pro, or Agency) indicating the minimum plan that unlocks it. If you're on Core and an app is marked Pro, it stays locked until you upgrade.
2. Per-app purchases and bundles
Don't want a full membership? You can buy access to individual apps, or a bundle that packages several apps together at a better price than buying each alone. This suits customers who only need one or two tools — for example, just StretchShop and StretchMail — without paying for the whole suite. Purchases can typically be billed monthly or annually.
How access is enforced
Entitlements aren't just a display trick — they're checked on the server every time you open an app:
- You purchase a plan, app, or bundle (payment is handled through our payment processor).
- The purchase updates your organization's plan and entitlement state.
- When you open an app, the workspace resolves your organization's entitlements and confirms you're allowed in before rendering any private data.
- If you're entitled, the app opens. If you're not, you're routed to Billing to unlock it — you get a clear upgrade path, not a blank "access denied" wall.
Because entitlements live on the organization, they apply to every member of that organization, and they're per-organization: an app unlocked for one of your organizations isn't automatically unlocked for another.
Reading access in My Apps
Open My Apps and each card shows the app's access tier. Apps included in your plan launch straight in; apps above your plan show as locked with the tier they require and a route to Billing. This is your at-a-glance view of what you have and what an upgrade would add.
A realistic example
Harbor & Vine starts on the Core membership. They can use the core apps immediately. A month in, they want StretchShop, which is marked Pro. In My Apps they click StretchShop, get routed to Billing, and choose between upgrading to Pro (which unlocks StretchShop plus everything else at that tier) or buying StretchShop on its own. They upgrade to Pro; the moment the payment goes through, their organization's entitlements update and StretchShop — plus the other Pro apps — unlock for the whole team.
Tips
- Compare upgrade vs. add-on. If you need several higher-tier apps, upgrading your membership is usually cheaper than buying each individually. If you need just one, a per-app purchase may be better.
- Entitlements are shared across your team. You don't buy an app per person; you unlock it for the organization.
- Check the access tier before you plan a rollout, so you know which apps are already included versus which need an upgrade.
FAQ
I paid but the app is still locked. Entitlement updates follow the payment confirmation. Give it a moment and refresh; if it persists, contact support with your receipt.
Does upgrading unlock apps instantly? Yes — once payment is confirmed, the new entitlements resolve and the apps open, no re-install needed.
Can different organizations I belong to have different plans? Yes. Each organization has its own plan and its own entitlements.
What happens if I cancel? Your entitlements revert accordingly and the affected apps lock, but your data remains stored under your organization. See Manage billing, invoices, and payment methods.
