Why a glossary
StretchSuite is a platform, and platforms come with a handful of words that mean something specific. Learn these once and every other help article reads more easily. This is a reference — skim it now, come back when a term trips you up.
Core terms
Workspace — The application you sign in to. Your workspace is the thing with the dashboard, the left-hand app menu, and the app launcher. "Open your workspace" simply means "sign in and start working."
Organization (org) — The account that owns your data and your subscription. Think of it as your company's container inside StretchSuite. Every record — every contact, invoice, file, and page — belongs to exactly one organization. Your organization is identified internally by a unique ID, but you'll usually just see it by name.
Membership — Some people belong to more than one organization (for example, an agency and one of its clients). Each of those links is a membership. Your memberships determine which workspaces you can open after signing in.
Entitlement — The record that says your organization is allowed to use a specific app. Buying a plan or an individual app creates entitlements. When you open an app, the workspace checks your organization's entitlements before letting you in. "You're not entitled to this app" means "your plan doesn't include it yet."
Plan / Membership tier — The subscription level your organization is on. StretchSuite offers Core, Pro, and Agency memberships, each unlocking a wider set of apps and capabilities. Your plan is the most common source of your entitlements.
Access tier — The label on each app (Core, Pro, or Agency) indicating the minimum plan level that unlocks it. If an app is marked "Pro" and you're on Core, it shows as locked until you upgrade or buy it individually.
Tenancy / Multi-tenancy — The architecture that keeps every organization's data separate. StretchSuite is multi-tenant: many organizations share the same platform, but each one's data is strictly isolated so no organization can ever see another's records. Your organization is one "tenant."
Data isolation — The practical result of tenancy: your data is yours alone. Switching to a different organization shows only that organization's data.
Workspace and account terms
Dashboard — Your workspace home page: status, shortcuts, and account context. The stable place to bookmark.
My Apps — The launcher that lists every app grouped by category, with its build state and access tier. Your map of what's available.
Build state — Whether an app is live, coming soon, or planned. Separate from entitlement — build state is about whether the app exists yet, entitlement is about whether your plan includes it.
Session — Your signed-in state. A session begins when you log in and ends when you sign out or it expires. If you belong to multiple organizations, your session also remembers which workspace you have active.
Verification — Confirming you own the email address on your account by clicking the link we send. Required to fully activate an account.
Billing terms
Bundle — A packaged group of apps sold together, often cheaper than buying each app individually.
Per-app purchase — Buying access to a single app rather than a full membership. Good when you only want one or two tools.
Invoice / Receipt — The billing documents for your subscription, available in the Billing app.
A realistic example
When a help article says "Your entitlements are resolved from your organization's plan, and locked apps route you to Billing," you can now read it plainly: the apps you can open depend on what your company's subscription includes, and if you click an app you haven't paid for, the workspace sends you to the Billing page to unlock it instead of showing an error.
Tips
- The three words that matter most are workspace, organization, and entitlement. If you only memorize three, memorize those.
- When in doubt, "org" = who owns the data, "plan" = what apps are unlocked, "workspace" = where you work.
- See a term we didn't define? It's likely app-specific — check that app's own help hub, which defines its own vocabulary.
