Understand app launch states in My Apps

Decode the status pills and access badges on My Apps cards — Entitled vs Locked, Live, Assigned, Planned, Coming soon, and Placeholder — so you know exactly what will happen when you open an app.

Two separate signals on every card

Each app card on My Apps carries two different pieces of information that people sometimes confuse. It helps to read them separately:

  1. Entitlement — Are you allowed to open this app on your plan? Shown as an Entitled or Locked pill in the top-right of the card.
  2. Launch state (status) — Is the app's full experience live yet? Shown as a small status pill lower on the card.

An app can be entitled but not yet fully live, so always glance at both.

Entitled vs Locked

  • Entitled (green pill) — this app is included in your plan. Its button reads Open and takes you straight in.
  • Locked (neutral pill) — this app is outside your current plan. Its button reads Upgrade and sends you to Billing with the app pre-selected.

Entitlement is driven by your access tier — every app card also shows whether it's a Core, Pro, or Agency app, which is the plan level required to open it.

The launch-state pills

The status pill tells you how ready the app is:

  • Live — the full app is available and working. Open it and go.
  • Assigned — the app has been granted to your workspace and is ready to use, equivalent to live for your purposes.
  • Planned — the app is on the roadmap for your workspace but not yet available to open.
  • Coming soon — the app is being rolled out; you may see a preview or a limited experience for now.
  • Placeholder — a preview stand-in is shown so you can see what the app will look like, ahead of the full experience.

How to read a card end to end

  1. Look at the top-right pill: Entitled or Locked. This decides whether the button is Open or Upgrade.
  2. Look at the category / access line: for example "Operations / Pro" tells you the plan tier.
  3. Look at the status pill: Live/Assigned mean ready; Planned/Coming soon/Placeholder mean not fully live yet.
  4. Decide: Open it, Upgrade to unlock it, or wait if it's still rolling out.

A quick example

On Payne Coaching (Pro plan), the StretchCRM card shows an Entitled pill, "Operations / Pro," and a Live status — so you select Open and start working. The StretchAutomate card shows Entitled but a Coming soon status, meaning it's yours but the full builder isn't live yet, so you may see a preview. The StretchVault card shows Locked with an "Agency" tier — it's outside the Pro plan, so its button is Upgrade. Three cards, three different situations, all readable in a few seconds.

Tips

  • Entitled + Live = go. That combination is the green light to work immediately.
  • Entitled + Coming soon/Placeholder = preview. You're not blocked by plan; the experience just isn't fully live yet.
  • Locked = plan, not readiness. A Locked app might be perfectly live for other workspaces; you simply need the right tier.

FAQ

"An app is Entitled but only shows a placeholder — did I do something wrong?" No. Placeholder/Coming soon reflects rollout status, not a mistake on your part. See What does View Placeholder mean? concepts in the FAQ.

"Why is an app Locked when I thought the whole suite was included?" Individual apps carry access tiers (Core/Pro/Agency). Your plan determines which tiers you can open. Use Upgrade to see the exact plan needed.

"The status changed from Coming soon to Live on its own." That's expected — as rollouts complete, cards update to Live/Assigned automatically the next time you load My Apps.
