When you have more than one workspace
Many people belong to several organizations — an agency operator might have one workspace per client brand, or a consultant might have their own workspace plus a client's. Each organization is a separate context with its own apps, data, plan, and members. Switching between them is quick, but it's important to do it deliberately so you always work in the right place.
Switch from inside the workspace
- Look at the bottom of the left sidebar, next to your email address.
- Select the switch-workspace icon (the circular-arrows / refresh icon).
- You're taken to the Select a workspace screen, which lists every organization you belong to.
- Find the workspace you want. Each card shows the workspace name, its organization ID, and your role in it.
- Select Open Workspace on that card.
- The workspace reloads in the new organization's context, and the top-bar breadcrumb updates to the new name.
What happens at sign-in
When you first sign in, the workspace checks how many organizations you belong to:
- One organization — you go straight to the Dashboard; there's nothing to choose.
- More than one — you're shown the Select a workspace screen automatically so you can pick before you start.
You can return to that screen any time with the switch-workspace icon.
Reading the workspace cards
Each card on the Select a workspace screen tells you three things:
- Workspace name — the human label (for example, "Payne Coaching").
- Organization ID — the unique identifier for that org; useful when confirming context or talking to support.
- Role — what you can do in that workspace (your permissions may differ between organizations).
A quick example
Maria belongs to Payne Coaching (where she's an admin) and Maria Studio (her own). She signs in and lands on Select a workspace because she has two memberships. She opens Payne Coaching to update a client's invoice. Later she needs to work on her own brand, so she selects the switch-workspace icon at the bottom of the sidebar, picks Maria Studio, and selects Open Workspace. The breadcrumb changes to "Maria Studio," confirming she's now in the right place before she edits anything.
Tips
- Glance at the breadcrumb after every switch. The top-bar
StretchSuite Workspace › nameis your confirmation that the switch took effect. - Your role can differ per workspace. Don't assume the same permissions everywhere — the Select a workspace card shows your role in each.
- Switching is safe. It changes which organization you're viewing; it doesn't move or copy any data between them.
Troubleshooting
"I only see one workspace but expected more." You can only switch into organizations where your membership is approved. If a workspace is missing, its membership may not be active yet — contact that workspace's administrator.
"After switching, my data looks wrong or empty." You're likely now in a different organization than you intended. Check the breadcrumb and switch again if needed. Data is scoped per organization, so an empty screen often just means the wrong context. See How workspace context works.
"The switch-workspace icon isn't doing anything." If you belong to only one organization, there's nothing to switch to. If you belong to several and it fails, refresh the page or sign out and back in to refresh your session.
"I got signed out when switching." From the Select a workspace screen you can also sign out; make sure you selected Open Workspace on a card rather than the Sign out button.
