Why this matters
Everything you see and change in the workspace is scoped to the active organization. If you belong to more than one, it's entirely possible to think you're editing one client's data while you're actually in another workspace. Building a quick habit of confirming context before you act prevents the small-but-painful mistakes — sending the wrong client an invoice, editing the wrong site, filing a ticket against the wrong account.
Three places that confirm your active workspace
You can verify the active organization at a glance in three spots, no clicking required:
- The top-bar breadcrumb. It reads
StretchSuite Workspace › your workspace name. The bolded name is the active organization. - The account chip (top-right). Shows your name and role. In a workspace where you're an admin versus a member, the role text differs — a useful secondary signal.
- The Dashboard hero panel. On the Dashboard, the right-hand panel shows your account name and the active organization ID. The organization ID is the definitive identifier if two of your workspaces have similar names.
How to confirm before acting
- Glance at the top-bar breadcrumb — does the name match the workspace you intend to work in?
- If two of your workspaces have similar names, open the Dashboard and check the organization ID in the hero panel.
- If it's wrong, use the switch-workspace icon at the bottom of the sidebar to change organizations, then re-check. See Switch between your workspaces.
- Only once the name (and, if needed, the ID) match should you create, edit, or delete anything.
Make it a habit at three moments
- Right after signing in — especially if you skipped or clicked through the Select a workspace screen.
- Right after switching workspaces — confirm the switch actually took.
- Before any destructive or client-visible action — sending, publishing, deleting, or billing.
A quick example
David manages two client workspaces with similar names: North Coaching and North Consulting. He signs in, means to update North Coaching's booking page, but the breadcrumb reads "North Consulting." Catching it before editing, he opens the Dashboard, confirms the organization ID is the Consulting one, and uses the switch-workspace icon to move to North Coaching. The breadcrumb now reads "North Coaching," so he proceeds — having avoided editing the wrong client's site.
Tips
- The breadcrumb is your fastest check. It's visible on every page, in every app.
- Use the organization ID to break ties. When names are similar, the ID in the Dashboard hero panel is unambiguous.
- Your role is a clue too. If you expect to be an admin but the account chip shows a limited role, you may be in the wrong workspace.
Troubleshooting
"The breadcrumb name is blank or shows a generic label." Your session may not have fully resolved the workspace. Reload the page, or sign out and back in to refresh.
"The name looks right but the data is wrong." If two workspaces share a name, verify the organization ID on the Dashboard, not just the name. If the ID is right but data still seems off, it may simply be an empty or different-plan workspace.
"I can't tell which workspace I switched into." Open the Dashboard and read the hero panel's organization name and ID together; that combination is the most reliable confirmation.
