Apps & Workspace FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions about navigating the workspace, opening apps, statuses, organizations, and staying oriented.

Getting around

Where do I land when I sign in? On the Dashboard — your control room with quick actions, at-a-glance metrics, the app launcher, and recently-used apps. If you belong to more than one organization, you first choose one on the Select a workspace screen.

What's the difference between the Dashboard and My Apps? The Dashboard is a summary and quick-launch page. My Apps is the full catalog of every app with rich cards, statuses, and upgrade paths. The Dashboard's app launcher is a compact view of the same catalog.

How do I move between apps? Use the left rail, grouped by category. Expand a category and select an app. You can also launch from the Dashboard's app launcher or your Recently used list.

How are apps organized? Into categories: Operations, Content & Creative, Commerce & Growth, Comms & Legal, Platform & AI, Brand & Domains, and Account. The same categories appear in the rail, on the Dashboard, and in My Apps.

Opening and unlocking apps

Why does an app say Open on some cards and Upgrade on others? Open means the app is included in your plan (Entitled). Upgrade means it's outside your plan (Locked); the button takes you to Billing with the app pre-selected. See What to check when an app card is locked.

What do the status pills mean? Live / Assigned = ready to use. Planned = on your roadmap, not yet available. Coming soon / Placeholder = rolling out; you may see a preview. See Understand app launch states in My Apps.

What are Core, Pro, and Agency? The three membership tiers. Each app requires a tier; your plan determines which apps you can open. Agency includes the most; Core is the entry level.

Does clicking Upgrade charge me? No. It opens Billing with the app pre-selected so you can review options. Nothing changes until you complete a plan change there.

Recently used and speed

How does Recently used work? It automatically remembers the last apps you opened (most recent first) and shows your latest six. If your history is empty, it shows a featured set (CRM, Books, Tasks, Schedule, Calendar, Meet, Projects) until you open something. See Use Recently used and the App Launcher.

Why does Recently used show apps I never opened? Because your history is empty and the panel is showing the featured fallback. Open a real app and your genuine history replaces it.

Organizations

I belong to more than one workspace — how do I switch? Use the switch-workspace icon at the bottom of the left sidebar, pick an organization, and select Open Workspace. See Switch between your workspaces.

How do I know which workspace I'm in? The top-bar breadcrumb shows the active organization's name; the Dashboard hero panel shows its organization ID. See Confirm you are in the right workspace.

My data looks different than before — did I lose it? Almost always it's a context issue: a different organization is active. Check the breadcrumb and switch back. Data is scoped per organization and never mixes. See How workspace context works.

Account and access

Can I create my own workspace or add myself to one? No — memberships are approved by administrators. You join a workspace by being approved into it.

Can several people share a workspace? Yes, each with a role that controls what they can change. Your role can differ between organizations.

How do I sign out? Use the sign-out icon at the bottom of the left sidebar, or the Sign out button on the Select a workspace screen. Always sign out on shared computers.

Appearance and support

Can I use dark mode? Yes. Toggle light/dark in the top bar. It's a personal setting applied across every app and remembered for you.

How do I get help? Select Support on the Dashboard or open StretchSupport from the rail. Filing from inside the workspace attaches your organization context automatically, which helps support resolve issues faster.

Tips for the whole workspace

  • Learn the categories, not the URLs — it's the fastest way to find anything.
  • Confirm the workspace before you act — the breadcrumb is your "you are here."
  • Lean on Recently used for routine work; use My Apps to discover — the two launchers cover both speed and breadth.
