Why verification matters
Email verification proves you control the address you registered with. Until you verify, your account cannot progress — you won't be able to sign in, and (during the rollout) you won't enter the activation review that follows. Verification is a one-time step per account.
How to verify
- Open your inbox for the address you registered with and find the message from Stretch about confirming your account. It usually arrives within a minute or two.
- Select the verification link in that email. It carries a one-time token that identifies your account.
- The link opens the /verify-email page, which confirms your address automatically. You'll see one of two results (below).
- If the page reports success, follow its guidance to continue to sign-in.
The two outcomes you might see
After the link is processed, the verify-email page shows one of two states:
- "Your account is ready." Your email is confirmed and your account is active. You can sign in immediately at /login with your email and password.
- "Your account is awaiting activation." Your email is confirmed, but your account still needs manual platform activation during the controlled rollout. You don't need to do anything else — you'll receive an email once access is approved. See StretchSuite account statuses explained for what this means and how long it can take.
Both outcomes mean your email verification succeeded. The difference is only whether the platform has also activated your access yet.
Resending the verification email
If the email never arrived, or the link expired, request a new one:
- Go to /verify-email directly (the "Resend verification email" link on the registration success screen also takes you there).
- Enter the email address you registered with.
- Submit the resend request. For privacy, the system responds the same way whether or not a matching account exists: if an account is awaiting verification, a fresh email is prepared and sent.
- Wait a minute, then check your inbox again — including spam and promotions folders.
Realistic example
Dev registers with dev@northloop.io but doesn't see the email after five minutes. He opens /verify-email, types dev@northloop.io, and submits. The page confirms that if an account is awaiting verification, another email is on its way. He checks his spam folder, finds it there, marks it "Not spam," and clicks the link. The page reads "Your account is awaiting activation," so he stops there and waits for the approval email rather than trying to sign in.
Tips
- Check spam and promotions first. Automated verification mail is the most common thing filtered by mail providers.
- Use the newest email. Each resend issues a fresh token. If you request several, only the most recent link is guaranteed to work — older ones may be superseded.
- Don't share the link. The verification link contains a token tied to your account. Treat it like a password and don't forward it.
Troubleshooting
- "Verification token is missing from this link." You reached the verify page without a valid token — often from opening /verify-email manually instead of clicking the emailed link, or from a link that got truncated when copied. Click the link directly from the email, or use the resend flow to get a clean one.
- The link says it's invalid or expired. Request a new email via the resend step and use the newest message.
- You verified but still can't sign in. If the page said "awaiting activation," that's expected — you must wait for approval. If it said "ready" and sign-in still fails, see Troubleshoot sign-in and account access.
- You never receive any email, even after resending. Confirm you're checking the exact address you registered (typos are common), and that your mail server isn't blocking the sender. If it still doesn't arrive, contact support with the email address you used.
